Affinity Psychological Services is a clinician-owned and operated mental health group practice - founded, led, and shaped by fully licensed clinicians who built the practice they wished existed. Every decision we make comes from people who understand what sustainable work actually looks like, and that extends to how we run our operations.
We're looking for a sharp, self-directed HR contractor who can own our people operations cleanly and independently. This is a fractional role - approximately 30 hours per month -fully remote with full schedule flexibility. You bring the expertise, you own the work, and you don't need us looking over your shoulder.
What you'll own:
• Monthly variable/commission-based payroll processing for ~100 W2 employees
• Benefits administration, including open enrollment and ongoing employee questions
• Paid FMLA and time off policy implementation and tracking (in a non-salaried environment)
• Compliance and oversight, as needed
• Ongoing automation to increase accuracy of manual processes
You're a great fit if you:
• Have walked into a founder-held or disorganized HR function and built something sustainable out of it
• Have processed manual variable or commission-based payroll yourself - not just supervised it
• Include #25 in the subject line of your application email - it's a small detail that tells us a lot
• Operate independently and bring solutions, not questions
• Know benefits administration, paid FMLA, and ESST inside and out
• Prefer a focused, well-defined scope over a sprawling generalist role
• Interested in growing your role as we grow!
Nice to have:
Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, multi-location clinic, MSO, or group practice environments.
This probably isn't the right fit if you:
• Want to spend month one building compliance frameworks instead of getting things done
• Need frequent check-ins or collaborative decision-making to move forward
• Are looking for a policy-and-strategy role rather than hands-on execution
