About the role
We're an early-stage UK SaaS startup building an AI-powered operational platform for the live events industry. Our founder is non-technical; the current build has been developed using AI coding agents with technical oversight, and we need an experienced, independent set of eyes to review it properly before real customer data goes near it.
PHASE 1: PAID AUDIT (this job)
Review our existing codebase and give us an honest, plain-English report covering:
- ·Overall code quality and architecture
- ·Security posture and data handling (we hold sensitive customer operational data)
- ·What's solid, what's risky, and what needs fixing before we onboard real customers
- ·Clear, prioritised recommendations, explained simply
Stack: Supabase (Postgres), React, TypeScript, Vite, hosted on Vercel.
This is a fixed-fee, one-off engagement of around 10 hours. There is no ongoing commitment attached. If it goes well, we'd like to discuss a further trial period of paid weekly advisory work afterward.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- ·UK-based, available during UK working hours
- ·15+ years hands-on software experience, ideally SaaS/B2B
- ·Genuine security and data protection background, not just feature-building
- ·Comfortable auditing and reporting on someone else's codebase, not only building from scratch
- ·Independent operator, not an agency and not moonlighting from a full-time role
NOT A FIT IF YOU
- ·Can't commit specific hours or a start date
- ·Would be subcontracting the work to someone else/are an agency
