Fractional COO / Operations Lead for Fast-Growing Ecommerce Brand
I’m the founder of a growing ecommerce brand in the custom visual products / event signage space serving organizations and events across the U.S. We’re currently doing ~$1.5M in annual revenue with great margins, a lean team and strong growth potential. OUR TEAM STUCTURE TODAY: • Founder / CEO (me) • 2 full-time customer service / order specialists • Part-time graphic designer • Fractional email marketing manager • Fractional SEO manager (+ junior SEO associate) We are replacing a traditional operations manager role with a fractional operations leader who can build systems, drive accountability, and help the company scale efficiently. This is a hands-on operator role, not a consulting role. I’m looking for someone who has already run operations in an ecommerce or product business and can step in quickly. RESPONSIBILITIES You will function as the operational quarterback of the business. Core responsibilities include: Operational Leadership • Run weekly operations meetings • Manage internal workflow and priorities • Ensure quotes → orders → production → delivery move smoothly • Hold team members accountable to deadlines Process & Systems • Improve operational workflows • Create and document SOPs • Identify operational bottlenecks • Implement simple systems to improve efficiency Team Oversight • Oversee our customer service / order team • Ensure client communication and production timelines stay on track • Coordinate with graphic design and vendors Founder Leverage • Remove day-to-day operational decisions from the founder • Ensure the business runs smoothly without constant founder involvement WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE Within the first 90 days: • Operational workflows are clearer and more consistent • Team accountability improves • Production timelines become predictable • Founder is pulled less into day-to-day operations TIME COMMITMENT Approximately 10–15 hours per week Long-term role for the right person. IDEAL BACKGROUND We are looking for someone who has: • Previously run operations for an ecommerce or product-based business • Experience managing small teams (3–10 people) • Strong operational thinking and systems design • Experience working directly with founders • Ability to move quickly without excessive bureaucracy Bonus if you have experience with: • custom manufacturing workflows • vendor coordination / supply chain • order-based businesses WHO THIS IS NOT FOR Please do not apply if you are primarily: • a strategy consultant • a marketing consultant • a project manager without operational leadership experience We are specifically looking for someone who has owned operations and driven execution.
