About the Client

Lespri Ministries is a Christian mission that has served in Haiti since October 2013. The name comes from the Haitian Creole word for "Spirit," reflecting the ministry's conviction that lasting work in Haiti is accomplished by the Holy Spirit of God. The ministry's work is anchored in Isaiah 61 and applied to the people of Haiti.

Lespri's mission is to see the nation of Haiti transformed by valuing, educating, equipping, and empowering orphans, children, and youth, with particular emphasis on leadership training and practical life skills. That work is carried out alongside Christian evangelism and charitable outreach in the community.

The ministry operates a free elementary school serving nearly 200 students and graduated its first 9th grade class in 2021. Its charitable outreach program distributes food, provides medical assistance, and supports families in crisis. Lespri has remained one of the few functioning ministries in its region through years of political instability, gang violence, and economic deterioration that have forced most foreign organizations to withdraw.

Lespri is small, field-based, and founder-led. The organization maintains close, long-standing relationships with its donors and communicates directly from the field through its founder.

The Role

IBX Digital is creating the fundraising and donor development infrastructure Lespri needs for its next decade of work. The fractional CMO will lead that effort — setting the strategy, directing the team, and partnering with the founder to carry it out.

Responsibilities

  • Own the fundraising and communications strategy for the Lespri engagement
  • Partner directly with Elaine to ensure every piece of creative reflects the ministry's voice, theology, and field reality
  • Lead the IBX writers, designers, and developers assigned to the account
  • Create Lespri's corporate sponsorship program and sponsorship page
  • Direct website updates
  • Launch an automated donor acquisition funnel: Facebook ads, lead capture, a welcome email series introducing the founder and the ministry, and an invitation to monthly partnership
  • Attend Bi-Weekly meetings with the Founder
  • Report weekly to leadership on project progress
  • Once the program is in place, create regular reports on partners acquired, monthly recurring support, corporate sponsors secured, and engagement metrics

Ministry Fit and Alignment

The right candidate will bring a clear understanding of the following:

  • Lespri is a Spirit-led Christian mission. Strategy and execution should reflect that theology throughout the work.
  • The ministry's communications are led by the founder, and her voice is central to the donor relationship. The CMO will help extend that voice, not replace it.
  • Haiti is a difficult, volatile field. Communications cadence, creative choices, and fundraising appeals must respect the realities of working there.
  • Donor relationships at Lespri are long-term and personal. Communications should be warm, specific, and relational.
  • The ministry serves orphans and children. Every creative decision must reflect the dignity of the people represented in its stories and images.

Required Qualifications

  • Seven to ten years of marketing leadership
  • A record of fundraising for Christian ministries, preferably missionary or field-based
  • Paid social acquisition experience on Meta
  • Email automation and nurture sequence experience
  • Creative leadership — sharp briefs, sound judgment, high standards for writers, designers, and developers
  • A personal faith in Jesus Christ and alignment with orthodox Christian doctrine
  • Fluency in agency processes
  • Discretion and care in working with a founder-led ministry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience growing a ministry's digital fundraising base from a small foundation to a much larger one
  • Familiarity with Haiti or cross-cultural missions
  • Relationships in Christian donor or corporate giving networks
  • Experience creating corporate sponsorship programs from the ground up

Engagement

Fractional contract with IBX Digital, dedicated to Lespri, ideally extending to an ongoing retainer once the foundation is in place.

Tell us about your hands-on experience with paid digital advertising, particularly Meta. Have you run campaigns yourself, directed specialists, or both? Describe a corporate sponsorship program you have created or significantly developed, and separately describe your approach to digital donor communications — email, social, and web.
