About the role
Fractional Integrator (Fractional COO / #2 Leader)
Wolf’s Edge Integrators
About the Role
Join a selective, tight-knit team of experienced executives who serve as Fractional Integrators—the operational right-hand / Number Two Leader—to Visionaries and business owners. You will help turn chaotic, founder-dependent companies into self-managing, self-driving businesses so they can scale, compete against larger players, and support the people who depend on them.
We match Integrators to the right stage of business (Operational, Conductor, or Executive) so you lean into your strengths, deliver meaningful results, and reclaim time for the people and passions in your life. Most work is remote with limited, purposeful travel. Ideal client load is 3–4 days per week.
This is independent contractor work. You focus on client delivery and leadership while the firm handles primary business development, proposals, contracts, onboarding, billing, tools, and most administrative burden.
Core Responsibilities
• Serve as the strategic partner and Integrator to the Visionary: hold weekly Same Page Meetings, maintain alignment on vision, priorities, and accountability.
• Lead and elevate the leadership team: run weekly Level 10 meetings, conduct regular one-on-ones, drive accountability, and develop functional leaders into true owners.
• Build and drive execution of a prioritized roadmap (including the Chaos to Control Roadmap™ in the first 30–90 days). Own appropriate Rocks and remove obstacles that block traction.
• Establish or strengthen the company’s operating system (primarily EOS tools: Accountability Chart, Rocks, Scorecard/metrics, V/TO, process documentation, and related frameworks). Ensure the leadership team and company operate from one playbook at the same tempo.
• Align people, processes, and priorities so the business becomes less dependent on the owner. Get the right people in the right seats and the wrong people off the bus.
• Participate in firm activities: weekly team meetings for mutual support on sticky client issues, professional development/coaching from Executive Integrators, occasional contributions to content, case studies, and light relationship-building within your network.
• Maintain clear, timely communication with clients and the Wolf’s Edge team. Track time and capacity so client load stays sustainable.
Ideal Profile & Qualifications
• Proven experience owning or running businesses (or significant divisions) where a leadership team reported to you. The harder-to-acquire experience of having built and led real companies matters more than pure EOS certification.
• Demonstrated ability to enter chaotic environments, create order, align teams, and drive execution of strategy.
• Strong fit with one of the three Integrator types:
• Operational: Hands-on system builder who establishes processes, documents workflows, trains teams, and lays foundations for scale in earlier-stage or operationally messy companies.
• Conductor: Orchestrator who aligns cross-functional teams, elevates contributors into owners, unsticks stalled initiatives, and shifts the company from “everything depends on the founder” to distributed ownership.
• Executive: Strategic operator with experience at larger scale ($25M+ companies or divisions preferred for this tier) who designs ambitious roadmaps, develops senior leadership, and drives measurable high-velocity growth.
• Comfort with (or rapid ability to master) EOS tools and terminology. Prior Integrator experience in an EOS-running company is highly valuable but not required. New members without deep EOS background read Traction and Rocket Fuel, complete internal training, and attend the Integrator Masterclass in the first quarter.
• Executive presence, integrity, abundance mindset, direct and honest communication, and the ability to partner effectively with Visionaries while holding the leadership team accountable.
• Willingness to commit to exclusivity for Fractional Integrator / COO / similar #2 work through Wolf’s Edge (existing independent clients can be grandfathered; unrelated businesses are fine).
• Ability to travel for initial on-site days and quarterly/annual planning sessions as needed.
Compensation & Path
• Independent contractor status.
• Compensation is 50% of the monthly client fee for the engagements you lead:
• Operational: ~$6,500/month client fee → ~$3,250 to you
• Conductor: ~$9,500/month client fee → ~$4,750 to you
• Executive: ~$13,000/month client fee → ~$6,500 to you
• Many Integrators earn more in 3–4 days/week than full-time COOs. Example: a Conductor supporting four clients can approach ~$228,000/year.
• Partner track: After approximately 12 months, eligible to invest for equity and profit distributions (details scale by level; investment can be structured via cash or fee withholdings). After three years as Partner, original investment is returnable if you leave (active membership required for ongoing partnership).
• Origination rewards: Land a new client that stays 3+ months and the firm sends you (and chosen guests) on a vacation.
• Firm handles sales, proposals, contracts, billing, and most admin so you stay in your zone of genius.
What You Get Beyond the Money
• Right-fit client matching based on your strengths, style, and availability.
• A real team and community: weekly support, shared knowledge, coaching from senior Integrators, and in-person gatherings.
• Proven systems, tools, templates, and methodology—no need to reinvent the wheel.
• Path for growth: elevate skills and move into higher-tier (Executive) work over time.
• Control over schedule and client selection within the firm’s matching process.
• Freedom from primary business development and administrative grind.
