About the role
Join our bootstrapped startup as a Fractional CTO to build an AI-powered SaaS platform for e-commerce. You'll lead the technical strategy and development of our product, ensuring scalability and innovation. This role involves defining the solution architecture and code review. It does not require you to write code.
We have a working AI model, a functional UI prototype, and our first pilot customer underway.
We are building platform-agnostic from day one — starting with Shopify and expanding to other e-commerce and ERP platforms. The architecture must reflect this from the start. Full product details shared under NDA with shortlisted candidates.
Must have
- ·CTO or senior technical leader at a B2B SaaS company
- ·Shipped AI/ML products — real model deployment, not just API integrations
- ·Platform-agnostic architecture and integration layer experience
- ·Hired and evaluated ML/AI engineers
- ·Can explain decisions clearly to a technical-but-not-engineering founder
Engagement structure
Phase 1 (4–6 wks) — Platform-agnostic architecture, data pipeline design, integration layer, AI/ML engineer hiring — $18,000
Light touch (~6 mo) — Weekly check-ins, decision support — $5,000
Phase 2 (2–3 wks) — GitHub review, production readiness, pre-launch sign-off — $7,000
