About the Role
The Company is in search of a Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a strong background in nonprofit finance to take on a strategic executive leadership role. The successful candidate will serve as a key advisor to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors, and Finance Committee, with a focus on building organizational capacity, modernizing finance functions, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability. This is not a traditional outsourced accounting engagement; the role is pivotal in influencing organizational strategy and strengthening financial operations, governance, and decision-making. Key responsibilities for the Fractional CFO include leading the implementation of a Finance Transformation Roadmap, enhancing budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, and modernizing financial reporting and analytics. The ideal candidate will have a CPA, significant executive leadership experience in a nonprofit setting, and a proven track record in leading finance transformation initiatives. They should be adept at mentoring and developing finance teams, have a deep knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting, and possess exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. Experience with complex funding models, grants, and fund accounting is essential, as is the ability to partner with Boards of Directors and Finance Committees. The role requires a strategic thinker who can help the organization navigate growth, transformation, and make informed financial decisions that align with its mission.
